The Nordic Playlist aims to promote Nordic artists through the power of artist recommendation and curation. In light of this launch, a panel of experts will discuss the value of curated content and playlists with regards to the marketing and distribution of music, automated playlists vs. the human touch and the question: are streaming services the new blogs/radio stations as musical tastemakers?

Henning Furbach: A self-confessed Indie nerd, he has been a regular DJ at Munichs premier Indie club, The Atomic Café, for over a decade and is running an Indie blog (hennissey.piranha.tv) as his hobby. When it comes to Nordic playlists, Henning compiled two CD successful samplers of Swedish Indie music („Åtömström 1 & 2“) for the Atomic Cafés label in 2004 and 2005. 

Jonas Kleinschmidt: Jonas is in charge of the music profile at WiMP Denmark, writing articles and interviews for WiMP Magazine and creating the most immersive and inspiring service for our users.

Emilie Snellman: Emilie oversees the Scandinavian market at leading indie digital distributor, The Orchard. Her role includes planning and running campaigns on digital services for local and international artists. In addition, she also manages The Orchard’s large Scandinavian indie label roster, including the likes of Hybris, Cosmos Music Group, Tigerspring, and many others, and works closely with them to create online strategy for their artists. Emilie is also a Young Executive Board member at the BPI.

Cathrine Rodalgaard: Cathrine works at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation DR, developing a new way of discovering Danish up-coming and unsigned music through a user-engaging music community with within the framework of public service – a project which also is a collaboration with the Norwegian broadcasting corporation NRK and the sites of ‘Karrierekanonen’ and ‘Urørt’.

Cathrine has previously worked in the secretariat of The Nordic Council with development of political initiatives in Nordic culture as well as she has been a part of the editorial staff of Danish music magazine Soundvenue.
