In Danish/Nigerian Jide Tom Akinleminu’s debut film we follow the director’s own journey to Nigeria to visit and restore the bond to his father, whom he hasn’t seen for five years. In beautiful, lingering shots the documentarist with a cinematographer background tells a compelling story about finding yourself in a country you go to as a stranger. It is personal and poetic filmmaking at its best.
