With today’s nine releases SPOT Music is about halfway in this year’s program. And the new names offer a wide range of the musical genres that the festival features this year.

On the rock scene the winners of Karrierekanonen 2013, The Minds of 99, delivers Danish rock as known from the 80’s. Also added to the rock program is the post-punk inspired boys from Shiny Darkly, the hard-hitting girls from Nelson Can and the uncompromising The Malpractice.

On the pop scene there’s no getting around the debutants from Scarlet Plesure. Highly affected by their stay in New York, the three Danes play American-inspired pop with elements of soul funk and R&B. In the same genre we find the trio Julias Moon, who with the debut single “Bay” had their souly electro pop in rotationon various radio stations.

In the folky section The White Album (picture) brings unmistakable Nordic melancholy and camp fire heat, while in Lovespeed genre boundaries are pushed with a hybrid of folk and psychedelic rock. And then the Nordic musical collaboration Dánjal (FO/DK/SE/FIN) sends a hint of Balkan over this year’s musical line-up.
