Familiar faces and brand new acquaintances at SPOT.

Last week Reptile Youth released a new album which has been recorded in cooperation with a 5-person band. For the past two years the bands music has developed from a focus on electro to a more rock and shoegaze-inspired sound. Treefight for Sunlight and Sleep Party People also have new albums on their way. Sleep Party People has a dreamy sound consisting of dusty piano, drum machine and profusely modified vocals. With this the band has succeeded in achieving over more than a million views on YouTube. For Treefight For Sunlight the concert at SPOT will be the live premiere of their new album. Strong vocal harmonies, wrapped in alternative pop made sure Treefight prominently played festival gigs. The three bands’ gigs at SPOT on the 2nd and 3rd of May will be a great opportunity to hear some of their new material.

The SPOT Festival is also happy to present the much-hyped trap artist SNAVS, responsible for dark, heavy trap-music with lots of manipulated samples. He has created a substantial hype wherein his music has been streamed over more than a million times. We can also look forward to seeing Icelandic Vök, who won the national band contest Musiktilraunar, which has previously been won by bands such as Of Monsters and Men, Samaris and Mammuth. The young trio often gets compared with bands like the XX, Florence and the Machine and The Knife.

Furthermore, in collaboration with The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus / Aalborg The SPOT Festival presents four acts: NovemberDecember playing indie-folk with a good deal of stringed instruments, roaring drums and strong vocal harmonies, Lowly, a composer-collective consisting of five individual artists who create a dreamy, avant-garde noisy sound, Nanna Schannong who delivers minimalistic indie-rock and dreamy shoegaze and La La La whom provides a musical universe that mixes experimental pop made with strong and light vocals.
