Most of the music program is now in place for this year’s SPOT, and with the addition of 29 artists SPOT reflects the varied and quality-filled Nordic music-landscape that makes up the program this year.
Among the new releases is Turboweekend, who at SPOT this year will only play new material, Christopher, who right now is out with a new album, and Broken Twin, who few days before their concert at SPOT will release the long awaited debut album ”May”. And all 3 with international ambitions.
We can also add a few exciting collaborations to the poster. Accompanied by a 10-person ensemble, the folk-pop-singer and songwriter Penny Police and the classical composer Signe Lykke presents their mutual piece “Join Forces” for the first time, while the world-band Afenginn brings 16 people onto the stage, the so-called Choirnevale choir, who will join to give the band’s Balkan-inspired sound a new layer.
More new names are, Negash Ali who already played some big European festivals at the age of 16 years as part of the group Majors, with his solo debut ‘Asmarino’ he had a commercial breakthrough in both Denmark and the US. With GREGERSEN is Denmark one new pop and R&B talent richer as his debut single immediately became P3’s “Unavoidable of the Week”, Gregersen has gotten off to a good start. The rap-trio VILD $MITH won the comptetition KarriereKanonen and this year they were on the Danish music mag Gaffa’s list of names expected to go big in 2014.
