With Christopher, Denmark has their very own Justin Bieber. Christopher knows how to make pop music with hit potential. His gift as a pop artist has developed a lot since he released his debut album in 2012, and with his new album, he is making it clear to the world who he is and what he is capable of. He has long since won the hearts of the teen audience, and with his new musical development, he is reaching out to a wider audience of pop aficionados.
We meet up with Bertram Zanjani, one of the bookers at the local Aarhus venue, Train, to to talk about this Danish pop idol.
Christopher is a big pop icon in Denmark, how did he become so successfull here?
– I think he evolved a lot since the release of his first album, he has become a more grown- up men and this is reflected in his new sound. This year he was also featured on a lot of stories as he went trough a break up with pop singer Medina. After this he had to create his own act instead of standing behind her.
Bertram experienced one of Christophers concerts at the venue train 3 weeks ago “the girls went crazy, they were already waiting for him since 7 o´cock in the morning. Everytime someone mentioned his name they would just start to scream“.
Even with his growing popularity he still invests a lot of time in contact with his fans, “I already saw him twice and was very impressed with him”. Christopher is a very symphatic guy who invests a lot of time in meeting up with his fans. When Christopher finished his performance at the sold out concert at train, he went out to meet his fans and put his autograph on almost every piece of paper and took some pictures with his fans“.
What can we expect from Christopher at SPOT?
– A lot of people want to see him, because everybody heard about his live performance, as he now has a great live band with him. He has some good songs, which get aired on national radio a lot, people want to see this for themselves. The crowd will mostly be older here then the people he normally performs for. This doesn´t influence his performance in the slightest bit as he is a very professional artist. I am actually going to watch the concert even though I have seen him two times before. It is because I am still interested in his performance.
Do you think Christopher has a shot at making it internationally?
– He can, he has the whole package. He has the looks, he can sing, he has a great live band and his second album is really good. If he gets out and plays some more showcase festivals like SPOT, and the right people will see him here, I think he could do well. SPOT could create an upportunity on conquering the international market as a lot of international bookers will be present here.
