As the SPOT festival had their 20 year jubilee this year it had to be celebrated in the most festive way possible, and in what better way then to organize an openings night. Among others who performed this evening were; Ashibah, De Dødelige, Reptile Youth and a B2B DJ set by Kasper Bjørke and Jaakko Eino Kalevi (FIN) which was presented by ROSA – The Danish Rock Council – and The Nordic Playlist.
The head of the SPOT festival, Gunnar Madsen, had the honour to open the 20th edition of the SPOT festival. After his welcome speech the first artist to perform was Ashibah, she is an acknowledged DJ & Artist and is respected for her distinctive sound. In a short time she has accomplished to work her way into the hearts of the cool underground music crowds and conquering the Copenhagen club scene, furthermore she has built up a strong name for herself in Egypt. Her performance during the night was an most intimite concert and energetic performance.
Three-man show De Dødelige took the stage next. They are a pop due who makes electronic and melodic R&B and knew to sweep up the present crowd with their electro-pop.
The guys who really knew how to get the crowd dancing are the men from Reptile Youth, as the band is well known for their wild live performances. During SPOT they knew to keep up with their reputation.
It was up to the B2B DJ set by Kasper Bjørke and Jaakko Eino Kalevi to close down the evening.
