The Danish grime phenomenon Lucy Love is with her music capable of articulating serious subjects like angst and depression combined with festive rhythms and beats. The music has characteristics of heavy dub step and intense 90’s euro dance.
For this summer Lucy Love has a busy festival program coming up, which doesn´t even scare her in the slightest bit: “I love summertime, and I’m just thankful that I have the oppurtunity to play on so many festivals, these are the coolest places to perform. Something happens to the audience and the bands at a festival.” Her concert at SPOT in early may will be the very first of several other Danish festivals to follow.
She´s looking forward to start the festival season at SPOT, which brings back warm memories. “ I’m very much looking forward to my concert at SPOT. I often speak about SPOT actually, as I’ve only had good experiences here so far. You feel special when you play for the festival as each concert is an event on its own. That’s the unique thing about the festival, ”
Lucy Love is currently working on a brand new act for her performance, it is also an experience that will be tested during the SPOT Festival, “I’m going through a very religious wave. Not spiritually or personally, but regarding my looks, it is wildly fun to play with such heavy elements”. In fact, during her concerts she focuses largely to turn the music into something visually appealing, “The idea is that you should get delusions of sensation, when you look at it. Since I was young I worked extensively with images, and I´m good at it. Being a musician is something I have learned to do. Visual art is something I was born with. “
Lucy Love will perform during SPOT on Friday May 2 from 23.30 – 00.10 at SCC.
