The international music industry is busy booking all vacant hotel rooms in Aarhus, Denmark. The reason is next weeks 20th edition of the SPOT Festival – the biggest so far in the history of the event.

And it is not just anybody asking for available rooms. Many of the most prestigious labels have announced their arrival.
Matador, Domino, Secretly Canadian, Modular, Chess Club Records, and Fat Possum are but some of record companies who will make the trip to Aarhus from their European offices in London.

In other European airports bookers from major festivals will board flights to Denmark. That goes for major audience festivals like Eurockéennes, Sziget, Hurricane, and Southside, as well af showcase festivals as MaMA, Berlin Music Week, Glimps, Eurosonic, Reeperbahn Festival, and C/O Pop, to name a few.

Mojo Magazine, Clash Magazine, musikexpress.de, Radio Eins, Byte FM, La Blogotque, Tsugi, Piranha, Der Spiegel, Rolling Stone Magazine (both German and Spanish edition), Radio 3 RTVE.ES etc. will spread the word about SPOT all over Europe.

And once again the SPOT Festival will host the biggest German music business get-together North of the Hamburg-Berlin axis. Among the participants are booking agents such as FKP Scorpio, Karsten Jahnke, and A.S.S.

Approximately half the German guests will go to SPOT by one of the three SPOT busses which will make the trip up through Germany. And the seats have been in great demand. To many of the German music business people the bus ride happens to be one of the few times during the year, when they have plenty of time to just hang out with competitors and colleagues.

The three busses are going through Cologne, Berlin, Eindhoven, Antwerpen and Hamburg and arrive at the SPOT Festival with approximately 120 guests.

The first major networking opportunity will take place at the City Hall Friday morning when there is an official reception of the international visitors. (Invitations to be mailed out soon).

Furthermore, MXD and the SPOT Festival will host two networking events on Friday and Saturday afternoon – both days 16.30-17.30 at Råbar – next door to the venue Vox Hall. (Invitations to be mailed out soon).

We look forward to welcoming our international guests, and we are proud to once again be able to say that this will be the best SPOT Festival ever when it comes to the participation of the international music business and media.
